Carolina Lakes opened in 2007, but was a very good course out of the gate, although it does have some growing in to do. It's located south of Charlotte, east of Rock Hill off Hwy 521 in S.Carolina. It was designed by Tim Freeland to 7024 yards, 139 slope, but has five sets of tees and is very player friendly depending on the tee box you select. Challenging, but fair course with some elevation change, water hazards and sand throughout. The greens are mid-sized to large, roll well with slight break to them. course is a challenging but fair championship golf. Well maintained, good value.
