Canyon Lakes is on the south side of Kennewick, off US 395 in a residential development. From the blue tees, it's 6,683 yards, 72.3 course rating and 126 slope, and designed by John Steidel. The course has it all, extremely well maintained always, well run, you won't experience slow play here, and in a nice setting despite the homes along the course. Challenging layout, but fair with a couple of very tough holes, and a few where you can catch a birdie. The course is a beautiful design with water, trees, bunkers, and out of bounds coming into play, along with a good elevation change.

We played on a Saturday mid-morning, and found the pace of play to be a problem, only saw a ranger once, and he wasn't keeping play up to speed. Enjoyed the golf course though, especially #12 with the largest green in the state, it rivaled some I've seen in Scotland used for double greens. The course was in good shape, the greens were putting true, and it was very scenic, just a bad day for slow play.

The course was in very good condition. I really enjoy Canyon Lakes because although not long from the tees I play, it provides a nice challenge with different elevation changes and many dog legs. The course moved pretty good later on a Sunday, which typically can be a struggle, and even the Tee boxes were green and in good shape.
