The Brook is out west of the Lexington Airport on US 60 or Lexington/Versailles Road. It's a fair golf course, parkland style of layout with some tree lined fairways on rolling hills with small to mid-sized greens. The course was designed by Dan McQueen, and from the back tees can play to just over 7,000 yards with a slope of 131, and a course rating of 73.2, and has three shorter sets of tees. The front side is a nice warm-up to the tougher backside with some very tight driving holes. Good amount of water in play around the course, it's generally well maintained, and the rates are fair, a good alternative to some of the upscale, higher priced courses around town.

Played this on a golf trip to TN and really enjoyed it. When the other courses in the area were scorched, this one remained lush. It wasn't cheap and I didn't think the guys in the pro shop displayed much Southern Hospitality (which I believe is a myth anyway). It's a nice course. Not the best I've ever played, but nice.
