On the northwest outskirts of London, England, Buckinghamshire Golf Course was designed by John Jacobs O.B.E., former European Tour player, and Ryder Cup Captain. Buckinghamshire Golf Club has played host to the highlight of The European PGA Seniors Tour, The Senior Tournament of Champions from 1996 - 2000 and The Andersen Consulting World Championship of Golf European Final in 1997. The course runs in two loops of nine, starting and finishing at the clubhouse. The fairways wander through three distinct areas incorporating woodland, lakes and rivers and undulating links style land providing a great variety of golfing terrain. One of the strengths of the course is that the greens are 40 to 45 yards long, so simply altering the pin positions can change the character of the holes completely. It's a big golf course, with broad fairways, large greens and bunkers, and water on seven holes. There's mature trees over some holes, but it's generally open, with plenty of great holes. Great course to play if you have any extra day in London, perfectly welcoming reception by the club, and well conditioned.
