The course is run by the county, but it's not your normal muni as it hosts the Greater Milwaukee Open, now The US Bank Championship. It's a great old classic, designed ion 1929 by George Hansen, and is one of the shorter venues on tour at 6759 yards, 132 slope, so the pros do burn the course up, but it can be difficult for the average player. The course is very well maintained, and being a muni, gets all sorts of players here, and pace of play can be an issue at times. It's not a long course, but requires good course management, the deep rough along the fairways is severe, and will usually cost you a stroke. It's a fairly straightforward course, parkland style, lots of tree lined fairways, with some doglegs, bunkers both in the fairways and around the greens. The greens tend to be faster than most public courses, but are not all that tricky. The bunkering on the course is good, in that the bunkers are well placed to catch errant shots, but not so prevalent as to make the round a day at the beach. The pace of play is managed with tee times separated by 12 minutes, and does help a bit, but everyone wants to play the course the pros play, so it does get crowded and slow.
