Broad Run is just west of West Chester, the far western Philadelphia suburb. From the tips it's 6,826 yards and a 132 slope, designed by Rees Jones in 2000. Bentgrass from tee to green, wonderfully landscaped and conditioned. Excellent guest service, and a great food and beverage offering and facilities. Very interesting and well designed course, parkland style with nice elevation change, viewpoints, and challenging design. The layout is routed over a large tract of land on rolling hills and open meadows and is located on one of the highest points in Chester county with three ponds and a creek which come into play.

Course layout is a very nice, with various slops in elevation, greens are running out well, with little to no imperfections. Fairly accepting to the driver on most holes, but quite a few risk reward holes of 340-370 distance that tempt you.

Most of Broad Run's holes run along the ridges of the large hills. Constant elevation changes throughout, odd lines, and tough club selection. The fairways are all different in terms of widths are bordered by large banks or drop-offs, so hitting the short grass is key. There's a few carries over creeks, ponds, and waste areas. #17 is a great par 3 with a 130-foot, 3-club drop from tees ranging from 140-205 yards, a fantastic hole. The course is on our short list as one the best public courses in the Greater Philly area, and this year seems to have a lower rate structure depending on when you play during the day or week. The golf course was in good shape when we played, the greens fast and rolling well.

Broad Run was in good condition, it has grown in well from the winter, it was just a little wet and soggy from all the rain. Pace of play seemed long, waiting on every shot, playing in just over 4 1/2 hours. Always enjoy the golf course, lots of variety in the layout, and change of pace with the elevation change.

thought the course was in great shape and the staff was very friendly. They carried our clubs and made conversation when we first arrived and when we left. The food was good and the bartender was friendly.
