The Bray Golf Club is old, founded in 1897, but plays on a relatively new course, It's a parkland course, on 200 acres, between Bray Head and the Sugar Loaf Mountain with views of Killiney Bay and the Wicklow Mountains. It was designed by Des Smyth, can play up to 5990 metres, and was built on rolling parkland. We found the course by happenstance, looking for a course to play our first day over, and then heading on to Druids Glen and The European Club, and what a find it was. The day we played the club had a match and invited us to play for a cost of 35 euros. It's an interesting course with the rolling nature affecting much of your play. The greens were well bunkered and soft, and putted true. The views out over Dublin were great, and the hospitality excellent. It made us realize just how many good courses there must be in Ireland that you've never heard of.
