Brasada Ranch

Brasada Ranch is a private course, but available to play if you're a guest at the lodge or staying on the property. It's in central Oregon, about 30 minutes southeast of Bend, and forty minutes northeast of Redmond. The course is part of a resort and new residential community development that was just getting off the ground before the recession hit. The course was designed by Peter Jacobson and from the back tees is 7,295 yards. The setting and routing is beautiful, maintenance was excellent, but it's hard to believe they can continue keeping it up without the surrounding development. Nice mix of holes, routed over the top of the canyons mostly with plenty of room off the tee. There's a few risk/reward situations that can save or cost a stroke or two. The course has spectacular views of the Cascade Mountain Range or surrounding buttes on all of the holes. All of the par 3's are downhill, or drop shots, that tend to take advantage of the surrounding views, and were all a bit similar-my only complaint. There's only one hole with water in play, and that was the 18th, par 5, and reachable if and if! Overall beautiful setting, fun course, had it to ourselves.
