Located just south of Boone on Hwy. 321, Ellis Maples design, built in 1959. The course is a nice parkland style layout of 6686 yards, 128 slope from the back tees. Some fairways are tree lined, but not too tight, others more wide open. Straightforward design, mid sized greens, raised, lightly bunkered. Fun to play and challenging, gets a lot of play, can be slow at times. Reasonable rates.

We really enjoyed the course. While most of the holes are in the valley, there is plenty of challenge with streams and ponds. The front nine is mainly a valley course but an enjoyable layout. The back nine offers some hillside and hill holes. It was in good shape and we really enjoyed it. Easy to recommend to travelers in the area seeking good golf course to play in this area. The greens are challenging and stay out of the "club grabbing" rough! The staff is friendly and it has a nice snack bar.

This was a very scenic course with a wonderful design, it was challenging, but it is certainly a "fair" course (68.6 rating, 5,096 yards for women) and the maintenance and service were excellent
