The Boca Raton Resort was built in the 1920's, and is still a classic Mediterranean style resort, designed by Mizner. Grand hotel and setting between Federal Highway and the Intracoastal, south of Palmetto Park. There's two 18 hole courses here and you need to stay at the resort to play them. The Resort course was originally designed by William Flynn in the 1920's with recent redesign work by Gene Bates. It's a short course, par 71, at 6253 yards from the tips, but it doesn't play short with the way they've sloped the fairways and raised the approaches to the greens. There's a lot of water, sand and trees in play on the courses, and while a 69.3 course rating and 126 slope, I wasn't able to shoot my handicap. Tommy Armour and Sam Snead both served as golf professionals at the Resort. The Country Club course is more of a typical Florida style golf club, designed by Joe Lee, and from the gold tees plays to 6,714 yards, 73.0 course rating, and 138 slope. Resort style, Florida parkland type of course, a little longer and tougher than the resort course, plenty of sand and water, and the greens tend to be elevated and well protected. Both courses have impeccable service and conditions, very well landscaped, like playing through a garden, but expect to pay for it.

Too short - feels claustrophobic. Well groomed and good service but not worth the tariff.

It's a great course but expensive. I paid $205 in October 2010. The layout is excellent and what they lack in distance, they make up for with design. Plenty of water hazards. The GPS in the carts is very useful.

One of the most challenging courses out there. The greens are lightning fast, the tee shots are very difficult and the par threes test your long irons. The conditions were perfect. If I was only good, it would have been a perfect round
