The Bluffs used to be a little more open to outside play, but lately are restricting non member play to allow only overnight guests at one of their 40 or so cottages. The course was designed by Arnold Palmer, and from the back tees is 7100 yards, 143 slope, and is well regarded as one of the top courses in the state, and is located 40 minutes north of Baton Rouge. The course is routed over the Feliciana countryside, starting out and finishing on the highest point of ground in the area along Thompson Creek. The layout is parkland style with a lot of movement to the ground. The course is very challenging with the tight fairways, forced carries, sand, elevation change, and water. The course conditions are immaculate, and the service five stars.

If you love the game of golf, and appreciate a beautifully designed yet challenging course, the Bluffs is a must play. I am 5 handicap, and it destroyed me. Easily the toughest course I have played this year, pricey, but one or two rounds a year will suffice. Perfect condition, excellent staff and facilities.

Course is in overall good shape with a very cordial staff. A lot of soft sand in all traps but greens had recently been aerated and still have a lot of trouble with unrepaired ball marks. Likewise fairways have a lot of unrepaired divots. Excellent snack bar, pro shop, and starter personel.
