Blacklake is located between Santa Maria and Pismo Beach, inland a few miles, routed through a residential community with 27 holes, the Lakes, Canyon, and Oaks. An OK layout with conditions not always up to par, if you're looking for upscale around here, try Monarch Dunes, or Cypress Ridge. The course is parkland style with tree lined fairways, interesting and varied layout on hilly terrain, just not the quality we were looking for, and the rates seemed fair. Just played the Canyon and Oaks, some water in play, challenging layout, housing along the course is a little distracting. The Oaks is the shortest at 2900 yards from the tips, Canyon is 3100, and Lakes is 3200 yards. Slope for the Lakes Canyon is 125, Canyon/Oaks 124, and Lakes/Oaks 122, designed by Ted Robinson in the 1960's, except the Lakes which is newer.

Blacklake Golf Course is well above average and is fairly challenging. If you're not a below 100 golfer, I do not recommend the course. The course plays much more slowly than it needs to and the new management team needs to hire marshals to help speed up play.
