Black Mountain Golf Club is located in the foothills of the Black Mountain Range in western North Carolina, 15 minutes from Asheville, and is a muni, but a great one. From the back tees, the course can play to 6,215-yards, par 71, 129 slope and used to be known as the course with the longest hole in the world, the 747-yard, par 6 17th hole. Slipping and sloping fairways and greens, a few blind shots, and tree lined fairways, with mid-sized to large greens with good roll. The front nine was constructed in 1929 and the back nine holes were constructed in 1962, and it's layout reflects a classic traditional feel. Well maintained, and reasonable greens fees.

Great Course, Soft Greens beautiful condition and scenic views Greens and traps are excellent. Fairways are good, but tending to brown out. Tees are beat up on some holes. Excellent staff and snack bar.
