Black Gold is tucked in between the Chino Hills State Park and the Vista Del Verde residential community on the north side of Yorba Linda, off either Yorba Linda Blvd, or Imperial Highway. It can be expensive. This website only allows you to input a range, the range here is $39-$115 depending on the day and time, suggest you call first. A beautiful course designed by Arthur Hills with nice views of the valley floor, the Pacific Ocean, and Catalina Island on a clear day. The name for the course comes from the fact that it's built over an old Shell Oil Company oil field. Challenging par 72 layout, 6756 yards, 133 slope, 73.1 course rating, but has four other tee boxes. The routing is through rolling hills with some elevation change, well bunkered, mid-to-large greens, in good condition usually, and a reasonable 4.5 hour pace of play. The fairways are extremely soft here, sometimes a little wet, and don't get much roll, the greens also hold shots well. Nice practice facility here with a lighted range.
