Black Bear Golf Course is just off Interstate 20, between Monroe and Vicksburg, and is on Louisiana’s Audubon Golf Trail. There's lodging here, but it's not a bad drive from Monroe. The course is routed over Macon Ridge down through wooded creek bottoms, and is over 7000 yards from the tips, but with 4 sets of tees, and was designed by Bechtol-Russell. A good amount of elevation change here, and a variety of strategic shot placement is required to score well. It's mostly forgiving off the tee, and has a nice change of pace to the holes with some more open, and other tree lined and tight, with the fairways bordered by tall grasses. A good amount of water in play, well bunkered, and some doglegs. Great new clubhouse facility with a nice 19th hole views over the course.
