Birch Creek is a few miles north of Logan in Smithfield. It's a traditional style of layout from the late 1970's, designed by Bill Hall and Ray Howard, it can play as long as 6,700 yards from the tips, we generally play from the middle tees at 6,300 yards, which is plenty long for our group's game. The course is challenging with tree lined fairways, fairly level and easily walkable, and always in good condition. Nice views of the mountains and a natural setting for the golf course, with only a few homes along the fairways. Mostly wide open off the tee, if you're off the fairways you might have to negotiate around trees, but they're not all that thick. Straightforward hole design, midsized greens, well protected by bunkers, and fun course to play.
