Belvedere Country Club is about 15 minutes north of Wilmington off US 17 near Topsail Beach. The course has been around since the 1970's, designed by Russell Breeden, and routed through a resort residential community. Conditions have been up and down over the years, but lately has been improving considerably. The routing is flat, parkland style with trees and homes lining the fairways, both of which impacting play at times. From the tips it plays to 6,400 yards 71.2/128 and is a good test, rewarded by accurate drives and approaches. Unusual in that there's six par threes, six par fours, and six par fives, the front side takes you out toward the Intracoastal Waterway, while the back is more inland, all the holes are unique and separate, and the wind always seems to be in play being so close to the beach. Rates fair, good service in the golf shop and restaurant.
