Beau Desert Golf Club

The course is a short 10 minute drive north of Birmingham, England and is a heathland course with a good change in elevation, probably 100 feet. There's light bunkering, 40 or so, and plays to 6,300 yards, par 70. The course has twelve par 4s;four par3s and two par 5s,and each hole is unique. Starting with a tee-shot over the infamous "pit", 100 yards wide, and thirty feet deep, on the first and finishing with a challenging par 5 at the eighteenth. Accuracy off the tee is paramount due to the narrow tree lined fairways bordered by some of the highest heather we've encountered. To score well, you'll need to read these undulating greens. Bernard Darwin said of the course: "Here might be one of the very best of courses for the turf is excellent and there is a flavour of Gleneagles about it. It stands high and is pleasanter in hot weather than cold, for the wind can blow there with penetrating shrewdness." By all means play the course and it is probably worth a detour to see
