Bear's Best is out in Summerlin, west of the Strip by about 30 minutes. It's a collection of Nicklaus's favorite holes he's designed over the years and includes: Cabo del Sol, PGA West Private, Desert Highland, Old Works, Eldorado, Pamillia, Las Campanas, Castle Pines, Desert Mountain, Bear Creek, It may be a collection of his best designs, but it was all lost on me since I've never played any of these courses. Thought it was a nice, challenging, and overall interesting layout, kept in excellent condition with very soft greens. Plays to 7191 yards, 141 slope from the tips. Expensive, but cheaper in the afternoons.

in Vegas for a bachelor party weekend and a bunch of us wanted to go golfing. Incredible day for golf and the course treated us well. Bear's Best is gorgeous and the staff & facilities are excellent. The course itself is challenging and fun. There is sand EVERYWHERE! The fairways are in great shape and the greens are large, tiered and undulated --- fortunately they were running slow for us because otherwise it would have been a very frustrating day for the putter. Overall, very solid course and a enjoyable golfing experience.

The course was nice, but we played a couple of days after they had aerated the greens. Layout was sporty enough, but did not enjoy it as much as my friends. Of course, it could also have something to do with the fact that I had a bad case of the snap hooks that day. For the price I think you could do better. This course also requires you to take a forecaddie (our group tipped him a total of $100). It was actually pretty neat having someone who tracked our tee shots and could give us advice on the greens. It's also the only place where they have tv sets above the urinals. I’m not sure if that makes this place classy or cheesy, but it does set it apart from the rest.
