Located between Pinehurst and Fayetteville, Bayonet Golf Club at Puppy Creek is a Willard Byrd design, playing to 7,021 yards, 142 slope, and is routed through some rolling hills along Puppy Creek. Instead of pine trees bordering the holes of most courses in the area, it's oaks and red maples here, and is a nice change of pace. The fairways are mostly open, the rough low, so it's a bit easy on your game, especially if you've just played Tobacco Road. All of the holes are interesting, some more challenging than others with each having its own set of strategies. The course is very well maintained, the price is right, and its a nice break from Pinehurst.
