Bay Pointe's days are numbered. Originally a private club, the membership sold the club to developers several years ago (2006 or so). Currently the course operates with outside management while the property is shopped around. In the mean time, this once private layout is open to the general public. Designed by William Fuller and opened in 1966, Bay Pointe features lots of water over its 6,220 yards (70.1/122 rating). The course is fairly open and short. As long as one can avoid the ponds, a good score can be had. The greens and fairways are lush as a result of the low level and proximity to Middle and Lower Straits Lakes. Located in the NW suburbs of Detroit, Haggerty Road is a major north/south road and access can be made from a number of routes.

Course has weathered the winter with no problem. Pace of play was excellent, in just under 4 hours. Lots of great holes here, very scenic setting for a golf course, one of my favorites in the area.
