Battlement Mesa Golf Club is located just off I-70 at Exit 75, midway between Grand Junction and Glenwood Springs, and about 200 miles west of Denver. The course has four sets of tees, and from the tips plays to 7309 yards and 127 slope, and is in a fantastic setting on The Colorado River for a golf course. The course was designed by Joe Finger and Ken Dye, with the front nine running through the valley below the mesa, and is somewhat parkland in style. The course has huge elevation change and great views surrounding you in all directions, and at times the scenery is more of a distraction. Most of the greens are open at the front for the bump and run shot, except a few which are raised or elevated. The back nine is routed up and over the mesa overlooking the Colorado, and is much more open than the front, and a bit more challenging. Overall, a great course course setting, stunning views, reasonable rates, and good conditioning.

I've played this course all last year and have watched it improve its greens and fairways steadily. The greens are well placed and holed often enough to challenge steady patrons. I enjoy playing this course even though it is not my home course, but I will continue to play here for many years to come.

Battlement Mesa has golden eagles living on the bluffs below the course, a significant population of wild turkeys, and a herd of elk which sometimes cross the course on its way from the cedar break in which it lives to the river. On a clear day you can see 50 miles down river and somewhat less upriver. There is only one forced carry, which is only from the back tees on the 11th hole. The greens are large and have multiple hole locations. There are plenty of risk reward tee shots on the four-pars. The three-pars are all different lengths. The longest can be anything from a driver to a six iron from the tips, depending on the wind. Nice course, reasonable rates, worth playing if you're nearby

Nice course for the money. Greens in good shape, but very soft.
