Located in the Barona Valley Ranch Resort and Casino, the golf course was designed by Gary Roger Baird, and measures 7088 from the rear tees, with a 140 slope, opened in 2001 and is part of the Mission Indians Reservation. It is located northeast of San Diego about 40 minutes from downtown. The course has wide open, gently rolling fairways and large, undulating Bent grass greens, most surrounding by white sand bunkers. Each hole has a piece of granite with the yardages from each tee and also the tribal name brand of one of the original Indian families that moved there. The front nine holes is more undulating fairways and slight elevation changes with some optical illusions with grass mounding combining with sand bunkers makes them appear closer to the green than they are. The back nine holes are more hilly, and is routed around a number of rock outcroppings. A fun layout, a little overpriced, but in good shape.

No homes, fast greens, GPS in carts, lots of bottles water on course, great practice facility- free for use before/after round, fast pace of play and the course is demanding- but not tricked up!

This is the must play course in the San Diego area. Just a 30 minute drive from downtown, The course features strategic bunkering, scattered at different distances, through the wide fairways. Firm and fast conditions put a premium on attacking from the correct angles to the highly contoured greens. Excellent conditions, good pace of play

the course is playing great. Fairways and tees perfect. Greens still a little off due to bumps from grown in aeration holes and winter grass condition. Overall the course is in great shape though. If you haven't played here, I'd take advantage of the winter rates and give it a try.
