Davis Love III designed course was routed through an old plantation, is forgiving off the tee, and runs by the ruins of an old plantation home along holes 3-7. The greens are somewhat large, and raised with mounded grass collection areas surrounding them to collect the slightly errant shot. Grasses are A-1 bent on the greens, 419 Bermuda on the fairways, and fescue and zoysia rough, and is well maintained. The course has seven lakes, and wetlands on almost every hole. and course management is the key here. There's some decent elevation change here, for the area, and several holes routed through the pine and hardwood stands. The course is a Par 72 and plays over 7,000 yards, 138 slope.

Barefoot-Love is a tied for second with The Dunes after Caledonia as the best golf courses in Myrtle Beach. Nice, wide fairways off the tee, plenty of opportunity to get up and down with the collection areas around the greens, and extremely well conditioned, with good service from the staff, it's just expensive to play, but worth it if you're down here once.

Wow, what a fun, challenging, and stunning setting, Davis Love at his best and the course is defined by sand and waste area bunkers of all shapes and sizes (most are monsters), water on the majority of the holes, elevation changes, and well guarded greens. This is a true shot makers course and it will throw something of everything at you during your round. Conditions were excellent when we played and this was one of the most memorable courses that we played in Myrtle Beach.

really liked this course and would put it as my #1 (without counting any courses below) Conditions were excellent and the course was beautiful! A high capper would enjoy this course IMO, although it can be made very difficult.

Would definitely recommend the Love course here, we thought it was the bes course by far, the greens were immaculate, as were the general course conditions, service excellent, just an all around good experience.
