We played the the Dye and Love courses at Barefoot in addition to the Fazio, and didn't think any of them rated a #1 rating in Myrtle, which IMHO belongs to True Blue, The Dunes, or Caledonia. The Fazio, and Barefoot in general was not well managed, pace of play issues, getting off on time, food & beverage, just general management was not up to par, and certainly not up to the pricey greens fees, Secondly, the constant highway and airport noise really detracted from enjoying the golf courses. The Fazio, while not in tip top conditions was a fun, challenging, and scenic for the full 18 holes of golf, lots of variety to the holes. The entire course is framed by sand and waste area bunkers of all shapes and sizes, some massive, water on the most of the holes, elevation changes, and well guarded greens. While not the toughest course we played, it was a shot maker's course to be sure. There was nary a flat lie on the course, not significant elevation change or hilly fairways, just the slight fairway rippling and undulation added to the difficulty. No. 9 has more sand on it alone than most entire golf courses, and the entire course is well bunkered than anywhere we played in MB. While most courses are surrounded by some sort of development as is the front is here, the back nine is pure woodlands golf and was refreshing, even though you still had the noise. The course has five sets of tees, from the tips it plays to 6,834 yards, 73.2/133, I'd suggest playing tees shorter than you usually play to enjoy the course more.

This has been one of our favorite courses for years. Staff is wonderful, and the course is very woman-friendly. Course was in great shape. I would have liked to have known about the huge outing that was playing there that day, but it all worked out in the end.
