Bardmoor was founded in 1971 and designed for Oliver Bardes by William Diddle., and plays to 7,015, slope 131 from all the way back. It's located in Largo, which is on the west side of Tampa Bay, between Clearwater and St Petersburg. It's a good track in town, close to the beaches, and was once host to the Tour's JC Penney Classic tournament. The course went under a redesign in 2006 by Gary Koch which renovated the greens to Tifeagle grass, and they seem much more playable, and faster than previously. There's slight elevation changes and a lot of unique, challenging holes with water on most all, and tree lined or bordered fairways. Great selection of par 3's from 115 yards up to 225. All in all, a fairly typical Florida golf course experience with reasonably good conditions, and convenient to the Tampa area.

Bardmoor was a good choice for golf, we were over in the Clearwater area looking for a course, and found it on this website. Fair layout, a nice amount of variety in the layout, found it to be in good condition, although the rates were a little on the high side. The pace of play was slow though, and since it was our first time playing it would have been helpful to have yardage books, which they don't carry, there's were a lot of water hazards lurking we couldn't see from the tee.

The course is in good shape, but a few greens are still not grown in very well after aerification, especially on the par 3s. The rough is still spotty for a course priced in this range. Its a fun layout though.
