Bald Mountain, is a well maintained mountain style course in the Lake Lure area, and is a Willie B. Lewis designed course from 1974. The course has 4 sets of tees and plays at 6,283 yards from the back tees with a course rating is 70.9 and the slope of 128. It's a sister course to Apple Valley and is a little more difficult and rugged with tighter tree lined fairways, and the rock faced cliffs surrounding the course layout, with accuracy more important than distance, and a good short game on approach to the smallish greens. Very enjoyable and challenging layout, well maintained course.

The course was pretty nice. The greens were lighting fast but had some bare spots. The fairways were tight and the traps were very hard with small lips. The overall course is a solid deal very hilly with some elevated tees.
