Baker National Golf Course is in Three Rivers Park District's Baker Park Reserve, 40 minutes west of downtown Minneapolis in Medina, just north of Wayzata Blvd. There's an 18 hole championship course designed by Dr. Michael Hurdzan, that is 6800 yards, 135 slope from the back tees, down to 5300 yards from the Red tees. There's also a 9 hole executive type course that's mostly used by beginners and the youth. The front nine plays more open with nice views of Lake Spurzen, while the back is more parkland style, both have good elevation change. Always in tip top shape for a county run golf course. It was one of the first Audubon certified courses in the area, so you have wetlands, lakes, and swamp land along the course routing. It's one of the tougher courses in the Minneapolis, and will test every part of your game.

Baker was in excellent shape, the pace of play was tolerable at just under 4 1/2 hours. Enjoyable course, low rates, muni type management, but once out on the golf course, no houses, challenging layout, and the greens were in excellent condition.

Course in good winter type shape. Fairways kind of choppy but greens are smooth and turning green. Trap sand is somewhat heavy. Winter rates in effect but no food service available
