Badlands is good, on the pocketbook. It's a reasonably priced course located east of the Twin Cities in Roberts Wisconsin, just off I-94. It's not a upscale daily fee by any means, but good solid golf for those of us on a budget, and the higher handicapper. It''s has nice rolling land in the St Croix Valley, and some tree lined fairways, now really coming into play since the trees have grown considerably since the course opened. Somewhat challenging layout with a couple of small lakes, hazards, but it only plays to 6000 yards, 117 slope, and was designed by Dan Perry, the owner who built the course with his family from the farmland here. There's some frustrating things about the course, way too many blind shots, elevated greens shaped like mushrooms, and tough to see from the approach. Conditions aren't the greatest here, it's not really walkable, and play can be slow.

Good value, conditions were coming along, although still a little rough and damp in spots. The course was relatively easy, good for the higher handicapper or even beginner, and rates were low. Not an upscale golf course or experience.
