Augusta Pines is in north Houston, west of the Woodlands off Rayford Road in an upscale residential development. The course was designed by Dave Relford, and developed by the Tour 18 group, and from the back tees plays to 7,041 yards, 73.6 course rating, and a 125 slope, and has tee boxes as short as 5,000 yards. Parkland style course through pine tree lined fairways, a good amount of risk/reward holes, fast and undulating greens, and a couple of island greens on the finishing holes. Full practice facility and beautiful clubhouse and setting. A lot of water in play, in fact on at least 11 holes, and well bunkered, each hole is isolated and unique, and extremely well conditioned and managed. Private course, but open to public play, very welcoming, excellent service level. One of the better courses in North Houston.

Having played this course before, I was surprised at the shape. Evidently, they were going to be working on the greens the following week--the greens were in really rough shape. The fairways were average and had patches of weeds. Once they redo the greens and fairways, this track is worth playing.

I just enjoy playing here, very nice conditions, great set of par three's, fair rates, although not inexpensive. Interesting and challenging design, always want to come back for another shot at a few of the holes here. Highly recommend.
