Audubon Park Golf Course is located just southwest of downtown New Orleans on the St. Charles Avenue streetcar line, across from Tulane University. It sits within Audubon Park and next to the Audubon Zoo. Audubon Park opened in 1898 and was the site of the 1884 World's Fair. The golf course was redesigned in 2001 by Denis Griffiths, and is very short at 4,262 yards par 62, 64.4/96 ratings. Don't let the ratings suggest you'll beat your handicap here, maybe if you're able to execute target golf, and don't spray the ball you might. The layout includes 12 par 3s, four par 4s, and two par 5s, routed through fairways lined with huge oak trees, and lagoons and wetlands. It's very straightforward, up and back, parallel fairways on flat land, and is usually a quick round under four hours.
