Atlantic National is the remake of the former Grand Lacuna Country Club in Lake Worth had fallen on some hard times over the past few years. New ownership purchased the club in December 2010, and completely renovated the course and clubhouse. It's on Lantana Road in far west Palm Beach County, and adjoins the Florida Turnpike. The course was originally designed by Joe Lee in the late 1980's, as part of a residential real estate development, and is typical of most Florida courses with homes lining the fairways, and a lot of water in play. From the White tees it's 6,142 yards, 70.8/125 ratings, playing to par of 71. The new layout is basically the same, but the tee boxes, fairways and rough have all been replaced with new grasses, the bunkers have also been reshaped with new sand. The greens are larger than they were and with more undulation, and grassed with tiff-eagle. Overall, fair but challenging, it helps to work the ball here due to a lot of dog-legs.
