Some of the more reasonably priced golf in the Rocky Mountains can be found at the Aspen Golf Course. I was really impressed with the quality of the golf course and the facilities for the price. The course was designed by Dick Phelps and plays to 7,100 yards, 124 slope from the tips, with 4 other sets of tee boxes. The course layout is parkland style, very straightforward, with tree lined fairways, good sized greens, and moderate use of bunkering. It was in great shape for a muni, the views all around are just spectacular, and with a good 19th hole to enjoy the round and the view.

Looking forward to getting to Aspen again this summer to play the Aspen Golf Club and Snowmass. Aspen is sort of a plain jane parkland style of layout through the valley floor, wide open off the tee, can play from 5,200 yards to 7,100 yards. The greens were challenging, fast, undulating, and small, and the course's main defense. Pace of play was slow, but conditions were good, and you can't beat the scenery.
