Armitage Golf Course

Armitage is west of the Susquehanna River and Harrisburg in Mechanicsburg. If you're traveling through on I-81 it's just off the Wentzville Rd Exit, east to Orrs Bridge Rd, then south to the golf course. It's not a long course at all, only 5,700 yards from the tips, but what it lacks in distance, it makes up for in difficulty with the tight tree lined fairways, a real shot maker's layout, designed by Ault, Clark in the 1970's. It's tucked in between a couple of neighborhoods, but with natural corridors lining the course. A good amount of sand, some water, but the tight fairways are what trip you up on errant drives. Walkable and well conditioned, reasonable rates, and straightforward design. Overall, a good value, and a private club feel.
