Applewood is 30 minutes south of Augusta, on the way to Waynesboro, off US 25 at Parker's Mill Road. It's a parkland style of layout with hilly, tree lined fairways, designed in the mid 1990's by Chuck Baer, and from the back tees can play to 6,700 yards, with a 118 slope and a 69.4 course rating. It plays much more difficult than it's ratings would suggest. The course has a good change of pace with the holes, some are wide open and drivable par 4's, others are more tight and require good course management, the greens tend to be slightly elevated. They're not only difficult to hold, but to get up and down as well. Good middle of the road course with reasonable greens fees.
