Image of Antler Creek Golf Course Colorado Springs CO

Antler Creek is northeast of the Springs routed around a housing development of Woodmen Hills and Meridian Ranch. It was designed by Dick Phelps and opened in 2004, and from the back tees is 8000+ yards, 146 slope, but has five other sets of tees. Its the second longest course in the US behind the International Club in Massachusetts. It's a reasonably priced course that can be difficult with forced carries if you're not playing the right tee box for your game. They call it a prairie dunes style of course, but it's more of an open links style course with 75 bunkers and two lakes affecting play. The course has a nice flow to it with mounding and slight elevation changes, and fairways bordered by tall fescue grasses. It's a fun and challenging course, interesting design, reasonable rates and in decent conditions.

If you are in or around Colorado Springs go play Antler Creek. If you think you long this course will humble you real quick. 8250 from the tips and plays every bit of it. Narrow and tough. Course is in great shape and rates are even better. Before 1pm. $39 and after $29 includes cart. This is by far the best public Course in the Springs area.

Played in great March 2010 weather, but the course conditions did not measure up to similar courses recently played in the area. Appears to have been a maintenance crisis through the winter, as the greens were spotty and rough. Trash (limbs, leaves, paper, bottles, cans) was all over the course. The tee boxes were divot pocked; the only thing healthy appeared to be the Spring weeds.
