Angel Park is a good solid Arnold Palmer designed course off Summerlin, 30 minutes northwest of the Strip, near the Badlands. They have 36 holes of championship golf, the Mountain, and the Palm, and a nine hole short course. Both the 18's are desert style golf, the Mountain plays to 6223 yards, 125 slope from the blue tees, the Palms is shorter at around 5800 yards, 117 slope from the blues. Well conditioned courses, the Mountain is the more challenging to play, and has nice elevation change, with water in play on 4 or 5 holes. Neither course is up to the "desert course" standards as say Badlands, but it's not as expensive, and is much easier on your game. Wouldn't be on my top 5 to play in Vegas if I were here for a week.

Played it this past Sunday. Fairways excellent as always. Greens were good. There were a couple spotty tee boxes that had some crapgrass going on. Bunkers were great. Rough was a little crispy, but I managed to find some very lush, thick parts. Overall decent layout. Wind was the lightest I have ever experience there. Course was very vulnerable. I played pretty well. I was two under after 4 then started thinking sixties. Lost two balls inside the golf course. That hurts.

Of its two 18-hole courses, I played the Mountain on a very windy day, the golf course was decent, but I thought it was a bit pricey for what it offered. Overall impression was a slightly better than average muni layout. Compared to the many other offerings in the area, a day spent at Angel Park is not time, or money well spent. I literally can’t remember one hole on the whole course. It did seem to have a nice lit Par-3 course and real grass miniature golf layout if you’re looking for something to do at night. We also played the Palm course on the same day and my expectations were reasonably low. My expectations were met. This is a very basic track with little (if anything) to set it apart from other courses. The greens are multi-colored greens & yellows, very coarse, and a bit slow. The grass is very snarly, so much so that you’ll have a bit of a time even getting your divot repair tool into them. Fairways were decent, as were the tee boxes, and it was nice to play without being surrounded by a housing development. If you’re use to playing a course where you can play the hole off your fairway, or perhaps the one next to you, Angel Park – Palms will do nicely. It would be almost impossible to lose a ball on this course that wasn’t hit into the water. Angel Park is definitely not for you if you’re looking for Prime Rib, but sometimes a good hamburger hits the spot too.

What a course! One of the hardest courses I've ever played. The rough was by far the longest and thickest I've ever played. Greens, fairways and tee boxes were great.
