Amherst CC is a good little semi-private golf club in Amherst, about 10 miles northwest of Nashua, off Rt 101A. The course is parkland style with water in play on almost half of the holes and it's routed along the Souhegan River with dense tree lined fairways. Mostly forgiving off the tee, and straightforward type of course, the small, quick and undulating greens are the course's main defense. The course was designed by Robert Currier in 1965 along the river valley, and is 6,665 yards 70.8 course rating, 123 slope from the back tees, and they also have a 9 hole executive course here as well, which is great to just come out and work on the short game. The front side is much more open and forgiving than the tighter back side, with a good amount of doglegs that make you think your way around the course. The par three's are solid, not easy to get up and down if you miss the small greens.
