American Legion Golf Course

If you only have time for 9 holes of golf in Wausau, the American Legion is a good choice, especially if you enjoy playing the old classic golf courses. It's on the north side of downtown Wausau tucked between a couple of neighborhoods and Sylvan Hill Park. The course has been around since the 1920's, and is a very straighforward layout, always in great shape at a reasonable price. From the tips it's only 2,800 yards with a 118 slope, most of the holes are lined with trees, the greens are mid-seized, mostly level with the approaches, there's a few holes with water, and a little sand, but overall playable and enjoyable. Easy to walk, and low rates, good for a quick 9!
