Alisa Creek is a couple of miles east of the PCH in Laguna Nigeul. The course is affiliated with the Aliso Creek Inn, but you don't need to be a guest of the resort to play the golf course. It's only a nine holer, but worth your time just to experience the setting for the golf course, routed through the Aliso and Woods canyons. The course is only 2,200 yards, par 32, designed by Gary Roger Baird, originally in the 1950's. Tough, tight course, narrow fairways lined by heavy brush, forced carries, OB on a number of holes, and a great collection of long par 3's, that would rival any high end OC course you might play. Unfortunately, there's no range here, just a net to hit into, and you really do need to warm up before playing this track. Conditions are generally excellent, the setting sublime, rates fair, and good for a good quick round, but bring plenty of balls. Nice patio overlooking the 1st hole for a post round lunch and pint.
