Alcaidesa is in the south of Spain, routed along a hillside along the Med, overlooking the Rock of Gibraltar, and on a clear day the Atlas Mountains of northern Africa across the Straits. We paid only €60 for an afternoon round, and found the course to be in excellent condition, the real treat were the constant views out over the Med and to Gibraltar. From the white tees, the course plays to 5,766 meters, and has some links style holes along the beach as well as parkland style through tree lined fairways, with wind constantly in play. It's on the Costa del Sol, about 10 miles from Gibraltar, and near Valderrama if you want to combine two great courses. It was designed by Peter Allis and Clive Clark in 1992. .
