Aberdeen is west of St. Louis in Eureka, routed over the Meramec River river bottom land, and is a links style of layout with zoysia fairways. If you enjoy the bump and run shot, this is a good course to work on that part of your game since most of the greens are open in the front. While it's wide open off the tee, it does require good course management and well placed drives to have a chance at the best shot to the greens. The course was designed by Gary Kern, and from the blue tees, where we play, is 6,291 yards, 70.2/119, but has two longer and two shorter tees as well. There's a couple of lakes which puts water in play on four holes, a good amount of bunkering, and good sized greens, and for my game is mostly forgiving, and enjoyable to play.

Course is in great shape in spite of the severe storm that went through yesterday. Some tree damage but the grounds crews were busy cleaning up by my 7AM tee time. The only problem that I saw all day were the flagsticks. They apparently have new sticks and they are so tight in the hole that some of them could not be taken out. Grounds keeper said thay are working to correct that. Excellent snack bar but a little pricey.
