Abbey Springs is on Lake Geneva's southwest side, just across the Wisconsin border from Illinois. The routing is through a residential community, but the houses don't come into play or are visually distracting. Mostly the tree lined fairways were distracting to the flight of my ball, you need to keep the tee ball in play here to have a chance at scoring, and some of the fairways are very tight. The course is really very nice, good elevation change, a few holes that give great views out over Lake Geneva. Good sized greens, well guarded by bunkers, they're fast and undulating. From the back tees the course plays to 6,644 yards, and was designed in 1971 by Killian & Nugent. Expensive, as most golf is around here, but they do have off season, and afternoon rates. Beautiful in the fall.

Excellent golf course, worth the drive up from Chicago. The golf course was in great shape, the views spectacular, challenging, yet fair to play, no complaints whatsoever.

Long drive up from Chicago, but worth it, excellent conditions, pace of play slow, but still under 4 1/2 hours, solid course layout, will return.
