Abacoa is a Joe Lee designed course, one of his last, and opened in 2002. It's my favorite course in the Palm Beaches, a little expensive, but a nice variety of holes, and some elevation change to boot. The course has some of the most superbly conditioned greens, and nice rolling fairways routed through lakes, bunkers, wetlands, and some homesites bordering the course, and has an open feel to it. It plays to 7200 yards from the tips, 137 slope, but there are a couple of shorter tee areas. Overall, an interesting design, well cared for, a private club feel to it. It's at the northeast corner of I-95 and Donald Ross Blvd in Jupiter. Expensive in season and at prime times, they do have lower off-peak rates.

Played it today. They punched some of the greens. They were slow. Course is in good shape,I ripped its guts out. Fairways are so sweet. Beaver pelts were flying. My handicap has to go down soon.

Condition of course is improving. Greens are coming along well, but fairways still have a lot of crabgrass. Course was well groomed today, but several sand traps had no rakes and consequently numerous footprints made them unplayable. Otherwise sand was good.

Beautiful and challenging course. Pricey, but definitely worth playing if you have never played. Above Course marshals could have been a little better about keeping the pace.
